Victoria Tetra Society Meeting,Tuesday, August 10, 6-8:30 p.m.

In Attendance: Don Hurd (Chair), Dave Marryatt, Nina Duffus, brief appearance by Tony Nordstrom and Marnie Essery

The Meeting is called to Order

 

No Corrections to the Minutes

 

No Treasurer’s Report

Tony issued a $54.40 cheque to Dave to reinburse him for project # 4109 which is now complete. He gave Marnie a cheque for $250 to send to the Tetra Society of North America to cover this year’s liability insurance.

 

Old Business

 

  1. Don and Marnie will meet with Bonnie V. of Volunteer Victoria on August 26. Marnie has the membership fee of $75 from the Tetra Society of North America. A big thank you to the Tetra Society of North America for their help to cover the membership fee.
  2. Don will become another signer on Tetra’s bank account.
  3. The volunteer list will soon be sent off to the Tetra Society of North America with the liability cheque. Please let Marnie know if your contact info has changed. Thanks

 

New Business

 

  1. Tetra will be participating in Queen Alexander’s Recreation Fair in late October. This fair is geared towards parents whose children have disabilities. More info to come at the next meeting.
  2. A letter will be sent to all Capital Health Region offices explaining the process of work requests to Tetra.

 

Old Projects

 

1. Project # 4110-Don and Dave will visit. The project is for wife who has Alzheimers and she needs work done on an elevator gate.

2. Project completed-Project # 4109-bath seat modifications-done by Don and Dave-Tony can invoice him.

3. Project # 4108-John and Tony working on it.

4. Project # 4107-Marnie sent info to her. We haven’t heard anything back form her yet.

It was decided that it was commercially available. Dave has talked to a medical company and she can have it done for $200-300. If she wants more info she can contact Dave. Marnie will send her a letter. Not a Tetra project. Cost us that for materials and transportation. She lives in Duncan.

5. Project # 4106- haven’t heard from person in Chemainus about sailboat modifications, Marnie will follow up..

6. Project # 4105-aborted Tetra project-someone else is doing something with drafting table.

7. Project # 4104-piano controls for paraplegic-on hold, she is away.

8. Project # 3091-cup holder-Dave called to see if she needed modifications made to her cup holder. He hasn’t heard back from her.

9. Project # 2071-fishing rod holder completed. Nina is going to try and get some media coverage.

10. Project # 4102-motorcycle side car–project considered, for safety reasons turned down.

11.Project # 3086- Dave is having a problem with the divider. Nina suggested using material.

 

 

New Projects

  1. Project # 4112-She needs a tray that can be attached to her wheelchair.
